The 2022 Board of directors

Ali Piccolo

Ali is a professional graphic designer and leads our monthly neighborhood clean up's. Her work has includes the biennial Highland Holiday Home Tour and managing communications at Bossier Parish Community College. 

Barbara Ramsey

One of our most dedicated members, Barbara has served on the board of directors for the past 13 years and has a passion for gardening. She maintains gateway gardens and helps to keep the neighborhood looking its best.

Cookie Coleman

Cookie is the founding President of the We Grow Together which promotes nutritious food and community connections in underserved neighborhoods, Cookie manages the Highland Community Garden and works on our Property Standards Committee.

Darrel LaBeau Jr.

Bringing a slice of the New Orleans spirit to Highland, Darrel is a returning active Board Member, and he also supports our community through his work in development at the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

Gif Gillen

Gif is a former elected leader for the Highland area and helped establish a Beautification Fund in honor of Sue Ball. He joined the Board in 2022.

James Carstensen

James is a craftsman who often lends his skills to neighborhood projects big or small. He joined our Association in 2018, following in the footsteps of his father who designed the organization’s first logo.

Kaylan Walker

The Associate Pastor at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church on Herndon, Kaylan brings a wealth of experience in community service as well as a background in public policy. He joined the Board in 2022. 

Madison Poche

A Highland resident with a heart for her community, Madison is the current President. She has helped to plan new projects and engage more neighbors.

Melinda Purcell

Melinda is a longtime Highland resident passionate about neighborhood development. She is our zoning watchdog and helps at quarterly neighborhood meetings.

Melissa Shepherd

As a public health expert, Melissa developed the Highland Revitalization Project, which measured the impact neighborhood blight, trash and other issues affect public health with the help of Block Captain volunteers.
